School Administration
Working to improve our service to parents
We will do all we can to make it easy for you to contact us and receive the information you need. At Abbey Preparatory School we are constantly working to improve the service we offer and if you have ideas that we can implement to help us in this endeavour, please contact the General Office by email to let us know or telephone 01803 327868.
General Administration
As with every primary school, our administration falls into three main areas, those of an academic nature that are dealt with by teachers under the day to day guidance of Miss Greinig and her academic team, as indicated elsewhere. The two remaining areas are of general administration and finance.
The General Office is open between 8.30am and 4.00pm. During these hours our secretary is pleased to assist with non-financial aspects of your dealings with Abbey School.
For general assistance please do not hesitate to email us and we will do our best to respond within two working days. For a more immediate response please telephone your enquiry to the General Office on 01803 327868.
To contact us outside these times, simply send us an email, or leave your message on our telephone 01803 327868, where it will be picked up when the office opens.
Financial Administration
Assistance on financial matters is available between 9.00am and 4.00pm. Make an enquiry by email or if you prefer, telephone us on 01803 327868 and ask for the Finance department.
Unlike many Pre-Preparatory and Preparatory School, Abbey School deals with all government funding for all 3 and 4-year-olds. If you are unsure how this affects you, please ask our Finance Officer for further information.
All 3 and 4-year-olds are entitled to receive a certain amount of government funding and there may also be other funds available to help with childcare options for example, many companies offer childcare vouchers to their employees.
Please contact our Secretary for details of all up-to-date financial information, including the latest fees.
Note: Fees increase each year in September.
Notice of Leaving
… or of not taking up a booked place.
When your child leaves us we always require a full term of notice in writing, to be received on or before the start of a new term at the end of which your child will leave. Failure to provide such notice will result in fees for the term falling due.
The same requirement of a full term of notice is also applicable for children arriving in nursery or school from elsewhere, where a booked place is not taken up, and also transferring from our Nursery to our Reception Class, where a booked place is not taken up.
Where appropriate notice is not received, the relevant fees applicable for the term not taken, fall due.
Curriculum Policies
At Abbey School we believe in community and a sense of excellence and that it is our responsibility to ensure that every child believes they have the ability to learn and the self-assurance to solve problems and overcome difficulties. We encourage our pupils to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the wider community – in so doing we help to develop their sense of self-worth.
